Enlisted Association 1994 Accomplishments

  1. VA Burial Bill - Signed into law May 1994.
  2. Pay Raise - Appropriations Bill includes a $465 million increase above the budget to finance an additional 1% increase for active, Guard and Reserve forces. This brings the total increase to 2.6%.
  3. Technician Protection - A provision was included in '95 Defense Appropriations Bill, HR 4650, that none of the funds available may be used to reduce the authorized positions for military technicians of the ARNG, ANG, Army Reserve and Air Force Reserve for
  4. Retiree Cost of Living Increase - Recommends changing date of military retiree COLA to April 1995, but directed to be effective if funds were appropriated to the Military Retirement Fund. Does not believe discretionary funds should be used.
  5. Minimum required RC Service toward Retirement - Requires that an individual serve their last six years in the RC to qualify for a RC retirement. However, in 1999 this requirement changes back to eight years.

  10. Standardization of COLA between federal and military retirees - language in appropriations provided COLA back to the original date of April 1995.
