Enlisted Association 1996 Accomplishments

1. Pay Raise - FY 97 military pay raise of 3%, BAQ increased by 4.6%.
2. Dental Insurance Plan for Retirees - established for military retirees and their dependents.
3. Increase in Annual Limit of Days of Inactive Duty - the amount of retirement points that can be earned was raised from 60 to 75.
4. AGR Retirement at Highest Grade Held - established that retiring active-duty Guard members would retire at the highest grade held satisfactorily if reduced in grade for administrative reasons, not as a result of misconduct.
5. Disability Retirement - established for Reservists whose disability was incurred in the line-of-duty during active duty, inactive duty training, while traveling directly to or from the place of duty, or remaining overnight at or in the vicinity of the dri
6. COLA Increase - 2.9%. The increase date was also established as January 1, 1998 instead of October 1, 1998.
7. 15 PAA Fighter Aircraft - maintained once again after a request for a reduction to 12 by the President.
